Psychiatric Care on Flores – Report from our training and outreach project with i.nez August 2026 As part of a project that has existed for several years and is now gradually growing, we spent approximately three weeks working on Flores, Indonesia, in the summer of 2026. The project was originally initiated in 2018 by a multiprofessional Javanese team with Indonesian psychiatrist and psychologist including Sr. Dr. Anke F. Böckenförde as German psychiatrist and Medical Mission Sister (MMS). She was assigned in Indonesia for several years and is likewise a member of i.nez (International network for cooperation in mental health). From the beginning on this project was set up together with the lay group KKI and Father Avent Saur, SVD, founder and director of KKI (Kelompok Kasih Insanis).
